The USPS enacted a Move Update requirement on discounted Letters and Flats on November 8, 2008. Since the First Class Letter Presort is a large part of our business, the Fort Wayne office of Post Masters has installed FASTforward on our MLOCR to protect our customers. The Indianapolis Office already has FASTforward installed.
The USPS samples and verifies our mailings, and Move Update is one of the requirements on which we are tested. In a sampling of our mailing, the USPS will tally both the total number of addresses for which Move Update information is available, along with the total number of addresses that reflect the correct, updated information. If the sampling falls below the 70% threshold for Updated Address vs. Total Addresses with Updates Available, then the mailing will be considered to have failed the Move Update requirement. This results in additional postage due for the mailing.
Additionally, our customers are set up with FASTforward Move Update Notification (FFMUN) accounts so they have access to the address updates to make the necessary corrections to their databases.
We are pleased to be able to provide this "Move Update Insurance Policy" for only a nominal increace in our service fee. |
